INVOXIA SMART DOG COLLAR: The most ambitious vision yet of canine connected health, with excellent clinical results !

Invoxia unveils Smart Dog Collar’s exceptional accuracy and reshuffles the deck of canine e-health. The first all-in-one, non-invasive biometric health and activity collar for dogs will be available this winter. In light of this, Invoxia formed a scientific board of renowned specialists that enables the company to present its ambitious and revolutionary vision about the way that people take care of their companions.

Can a connected device give your dog a voice? That’s what Invoxia, leader in GPS tracking, is offering at IFA. The startup is presenting Smart Dog Collar, the first intelligent biometric collar to revolutionise canine e-health, at ShowStoppers on September 1st. The first results from a clinical study incorporating dogs of many sizes and breeds are extremely promising, with 99% accuracy detecting heart rate and 97% when detecting a dog’s respiratory rate. For the first time, It gives pet owners the opportunity to become active in the monitoring and protecting of man’s best friend, at home and on a daily basis before invasive and burdensome clinical tests are required, and before it's too late. Invoxia is positioned as the cornerstone of connected pet health and building the largest biometric and activity database ever assembled to discover new biomarkers. The more Smart Dog Collar—a connected device, boosted by deep learning—is worn by the dog, the more it’s able to collect valuable information and help pet owners to take care of their canines in a personalised way. This new step marks a turning point in canine e-health and legitimises Invoxia’s expertise in the field.

Our canine friends, truly members of millions of families, are often subject to multiple ailments throughout their lives. One out of five are faced with cardiac conditions during their lifetime and some breeds are more predisposed than others, especially larger dogs like Dalmatians, German Shepherds, or Weimaraners. In the event of heart failure, it’s necessary to manually track their metrics in order to anticipate a possible relapse and to try and prolong the dog's life. Thanks to Invoxia’s Smart Dog Collar, it’s at last possible to track their heart and respiratory rate in a simple, non-invasive way. A true advancement in the world of canine e-health.

Unprecedented accuracy that legitimises Invoxia’s role in canine e-health

Invoxia formed its Scientific Advisory Board, made up of renowned international specialists coming from the best research institutions around the globe including Valérie Chetboul, a renowned veterinarian specialising in cardiology, Dr. Daniel Promislow a biogerontologist and expert in canine ageing, as well as others soon to be announced. Their enthusiasm confirms the importance and the disruptive nature of the project, which will support the advancement of medical research. Invoxia has already tested the first Smart Dog Collars on a data set representative of all dog breeds. With regard to the Collar’s accuracy, the first results are as follows:

  • 99% average accuracy for heart rate detection (less than 1% error rate)
  • 97% average accuracy for respiration rate detection (less than 3% error rate)

These results were obtained across a diverse range of dog breeds including Labradors, Dalmatians, Beagles, and Fox Terriers. Moreover, Smart Dog Collar was proven to be just as accurate for cross breeds, having been tested on Leonberger crosses, Fawn Brittany Bassets, and English Setter crosses, among others. In light of these promising results, Smart Dog Collar is positioned as the indispensable companion for the health of our canine friends, and a true revolution for the daily routine of their owners. Such a continuously accurate wearable device also opens upremarkable opportunities for the world of canine e-health research.

A multifunction device that replaces traditional tools

Today, a range of tools are used for cardiac and respiratory monitoring of dogs during clinical visits, during operations, or during post-surgery recovery. However, these are often unreliable, difficult to fit or invasive for the pet, like PetMap—a tool used during anaesthesia or surgery to calculate respiratory constants—which requires intubation, or an electrocardiogram to calculate heart rate—which itself requires shaving the dog’s legs. Whatsmore, these tools can only be used punctually, generally during operations or veterinary visits, and don’t enable daily monitoring of the dog’s health.

A complete, less expensive and less invasive tool can replace all of these methods for monitoring our companions’ vitals on a daily basis: Invoxia’s Smart Dog Collar. The

The Collar features unique ‘sensor fusion’ technology, a combination of highly innovative sensors including a miniature radar boosted by cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms. The radar sensor enables the measurement of microscopic movements of the skin no matter the dog’s fur and, thanks to AI, the device will then discard ‘parasitic’ vibrations in order to provide information that is directly intelligible like the dog’s normal state and their respiratory and heart rate continuously. Thanks to Smart Dog Collar, the dog’s owner can consult the pertinent data directly from their smartphone in real time, without any need for action on their part or additional measurement with complicated or unsuitable tools.

For Amélie Caudron, CEO of Invoxia, “ Dogs are a true member of the family for millions of people. Inevitably, we need to rethink how we manage their health with non-invasive care. It’s time to use technological advances for preventative health, just as we have done for ourselves, where a watch can now warn of a problematic arrhythmia. The results achieved by Smart Dog Collar allow us to take the next step in canine e-health and animal welfare.”

Intelligent activity tracking to never lose touch with your dog

Thanks to advanced deep learning algorithms, Smart Dog Collar accurately monitors a dog’s daily activities. Their time spent running and walking, a sleep score, the number of meals they eat, scratching sessions, barking… Pet parents receive these metrics twice per day via activity reports. This continuity over time is essential for 360° health monitoring, in order to detect a drop in activity levels or appetite which can be linked to cardiac conditions, digestive issues, skin conditions or arthritis.

By combining Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and LTE-M for connectivity, and offering unparalleled battery life of several weeks, Invoxia’s Smart Dog Collar also enables pet owners to locate their precious pup in real time, should they run away, get lost, or are stolen.

Availability

Sleek and elegant, Smart Dog Collar will be available in a range of colors. Waterproof and dust resistant, it can be washed if necessary. The Smart Dog Collar will be available late Autumn 2022 with an expected price of $99.00 plus a monthly subscription of $12.99.

Smart Dog Collar will be available this winter for an estimated price of 99 Euros/Dollars including tax, with a monthly subscription cost of 12.99 Dollars/Euros.

*Invoxia’s intelligent dog collar won two CES Innovation Awards in the categories Wearable Technology and Health and Wellness.
